The largest area of responsibility when it comes to the Office of Sheriff is that of running the County Jail.  As Sheriff, I have leveraged my experience as Jail Administrator to effectively further my ability to address the growing unfunded demands placed on our County by various legislative actions.  This coupled with our growing County population requires us to continually look to the future.  We are constitutionally obligated to provide certain aspects of an inmate’s care, but as Sheriff, I feel we must do what we can to provide guidance to better those housed in our facility.  Jail ministry, Trustee, Work Crews, and educational programs.  I have expanded many of these programs and initiated a few new ones including the County’s first Work Release Program for which we received approval in early 2025.
